At this point, this is apparently just a rumor. I suppose the possibility is there. But the latest news says that the Philippine army is giving civilian officials a chance to try to negotiate the release of the JW women captives. The abductors have 5 days to release and hand them over. See "Philippines give kidnappers chance."

The kidnappers of the JW women are now demanding a six-million-peso ransom for their release. See Highlights: GMA-7Audio-Video on extreme right at:

    Jehovah's Witnesses beheaded

At least two of six Jehovahs Witnesses, kidnapped by Muslim extremists in the southern Philippines, have been murdered and their heads dumped in a public marketplace.

Authorities found the heads of the two male hostages in an open-air market in Jolo, along with notes calling for a Jihad, or Islamic holy war, against non-Muslims.

The two men were abducted with four women as the group sold Avon cosmetics and visited homes around the town of Patikul, in the south of the predominantly Muslim island of Jolo. The hostages were Filipinos, mostly poor people from the nearby city of Zamboanga, on the main island of Mindanao.

Police and military officials say the kidnapping was carried out by Muin Maulod Sahiron, a nephew of Radullan Sahiron who heads the Muslim extremist Abu Sayyaf group in the area.

The kidnappings were the first on the troubled island of Jolo since the United States began supporting a Philippines military campaign to wipe out the al-Qaida-linked group seven months ago.
