  Why SILENTLAMBS *MUST* be Judicially Crucified (Watchtower's Reasoning)

  Many have stated how DUMB the WTBTS must be for arranging the judicial execution of Bowen, given what the international media can do (AND I SINCERELY HOPE *WILL* DO) with the story of what the "Society of the Mentally-Ill or Perverted" in Brooklyn did to the person who tried to save children from brutal and repeated rape.

  Actually, they had no real choice. Their REAL STUPIDITY (and of course ORGANIZATIONAL CRIMINALITY) was ever letting the scandal get to this stage, and we here should all know the mindset that made that happen.

  Given the position today, they *HAVE* to judicially murder (the actual sentence to be executed by their Crazed Killer-god jehoooooBAH, note) - not because to "let him off" would signal more rebellions from those only held in by fear, but because the only way they can discredit Bill is by calling him a disgruntled, ex-jW apostate. THEY HAVE NO OTHER WEAPON.

  As an organization, they can't well do that while he manifestly is still one of Jehovah's Witnesses, now, can they?

  (a) USE THE TERM "EXCOMMUNICATION" RATHER THAN "DISFELLOWSHIPPING", WHICH IS NOT UNDERSTOOD OUTSIDE THE CULT; and
  (b) POINT OUT THE CONSEQUENCES TO A BELIEVING-jW LIKE BILL OF SUCH EXCOMMUNICATION: "THAT HE WILL SOON BE KILLED BY JEHOVAH AT ARMAGEDDON, WHICH IS IMMINENT", AND THE TORTURE THAT MUST CAUSE; and

  (d) POINT OUT THE TERRIBLE PERSONAL COST OF (c), GIVEN THAT JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES HAVE BEEN SO STRONGLY DISCOURAGED FROM HAVING FRIENDS OR CONTACTS OUTSIDE THE CULT AND HAVE PROBABLY SPENT MUCH OF THEIR TIME WITHIN THE CULT TRYING TO CONVERT THOSE CLOSE TO THEM, PERHAPS WITH SUCCESS - IT IS A TRIPLE-DEATH.

  Too bad the Brooklyn gerontocrats can't accept the counsel of Jesus

  But you don't even have to accept the Bible to realize that this
  is the stupidest response possible. A simple course in professional
  PR or business ethics would teach this.

  Until someone proves otherwise, I continue to believe that they
  are destroying themselves by their own arrogance and fanatical
  desire to punish. They could settle this quietly, they could
  walk away and simply say that the accused have DA'd themselves.

  Instead, like their own image of Gog of Magog, they are IRRESISIBLY
  DRAWN to CONFIRM the public accusation of covering up child molesters
  by disfellowshipping those who seek reform.

  What next for these idiots? How about 'if you don't stop calling me
  legalistic, I'm going to sue you!' (??) Maybe they could threaten
  the children of people who accuse them of hurting kids!

  Such is the logic of the self deceived - and self exalted.

  I agree with you. The borg has no other alternative but to Disfellowship Bill. In their close society that depends on total control, that is the only way they know how to deal with dissenters. ( And they claim they are not a cult). As far as them keeping this scandal quiet, the genie is out of the bottle, so I think it is a little to late to hush it all up. Also now you have others that are coming forward and doing a lot of the letter writing etc. So it is not just a matter of shutting up silent lambs. The WT knows it is going to take a hit and a bad hit one on this. I don't think you will see the end of the WT in the near future but with all the legal lawsuits that they will be having to fight and the loss of funds coming in, there will have to be drastic changes within the organization in order for it to survive. So all you old farts on the GB take this warning to heart before its too late, you can't just go and stick your head in the sand and hope this all goes away because your haven't seen nothing yet.

  HI Focus and Metatron: Good points ... I agree ... the arrogance and vengeful attitude are governing the action of the GB ... power and their desire to keep it are corrupting them. They don't care about the victims, the children or the parents ... they only care about image and power and control.

  The big difference is that prior to Al Gore inventing the Internet, someone like Bill Bowen could be given the boot, and his voice would effectively be muted. Some, like Carl Olaf Johnson and Ray Franz, published books and reached moderate readership, but in matters of immediate urgency, like the current pedophile catastrophe, a significant groundswell of public interest/outrage could not be generated, because it was too tough to get the information out there.

  With global information dissemination the reality today, people like Bill can be heard, and efforts can be coordinated so that large media organizations will pick up these stories. The lone crusader no longer has to go it alone against a worldwide publishing empire. He has the opportunity to spread his voice as wide as--and more effectively than--the Watchtower.

  There was never any doubt that Bill Bowen would be disfellowshipped for the egregious sin of telling the truth and putting children above the WT's mythical reputation. What I think the Watchtower will learn (already has learned with sites like Randy's and Kent's) is that it will be impossible to shut him up as effectively as dissenters of the past.

  Imagine what would have happened if the Internet made the public and R&F dubs aware of what was really going on behind the scenes in the organization after Russell died. There might be six million Christmas-celebrating, chain-smoking Russellites printing magazines and pointing to the few thousand disgruntled Rutherfordians as the Evil Slave Class.
