I wondered if Simon or some of you other 'techies' out there might be interested to know that the Society's main domain reaches it's two year expiry on Thursday 15th March. (4 days (duh!))

Is it possible to take it from under their noses? Sure would be a hoot!

    D'oh!
No sooner had I posted this than I thought I'd better check the WHOIS database again.

Those slippery suckers have beaten us to it.

    Shame, would have been amusing

Always struck me as a bit telling that they registered 'WatchTower' and promote their brand name rather than God's name Jehovah which they claim to promote.
    BTW...anyone want to buy www.jehovahgod.com or www.jehovah-god.com ??

I thought I'd bump this back up. Their domain name is set to expire on 3.15.03. Don't know if someone can look into this and do something about it.

    * Only one back-order position is available per name.
Simply close this window to search for other domains to register or back-order.

... someone must already have it on back order (!)

As of January 25, 2003, central registry supervision of domain names ending in ORG was transferred from VeriSign to Public Interest Registry (PIR). PIR has elected to suspend deletions of expired ORG names for three to four months while it considers deletion policies.

Please be aware that this may affect the timing of the deletion of any non-renewed ORG name, as well as the effectiveness of your back-order subscription. If, when deletions are resumed, our service is not able to acquire deleting ORG names, you of course will be welcome to exchange your subscription for a COM or NET domain name.

To be honest, getting it would be a bit pointless because they would easily get it back because of the owenership / trademark thing although it *could* get some publicity.

It would be truly hilarious if we could get control of the domain, then create a parody site, but a subtle one so that Dubs wouldn't realize it straight away. Maybe a few strategic "Questions From Readers", ehehehe....*SYN schemes*
