Harold Stassen lay in state in the Capitol rotunda Friday -- an honor believed to have been extended to only eight Minnesotans previously. Stassen, who died last Sunday at age 93, lay in a simple black casket draped with an American flag. Behind him stood flags of Minnesota, the United States and the United Nations.He was the last living signatory of the U.N. charter.

It struck me that while WTS speculated about the UN as the beast with the death stroke that got healed and would face early demise they didn't anticipate the length of time the UN would be around. There are no living signatories to the UN charter. That organization has out lived the people who created it. That "generation" has died too.
The more distant we get from 1914, 1935 and 1945 the harder it is for the WTS to cling too its chronology. The further in to the past certains dates are the less their importance to history. 1914 will not be of great signicance after 2014 when no one is alive to remember it.
Just my thoughts on the passing away of a great statesman.
