Time to Change Soon to Someday

    Hi All,

I've been reading the publications of the WT Society for 55 years and my Grandmother many years before that and the term "soon" has lost it's meaning. It's time to use "someday" in it's place. IF someone says that I will be home soon, and you die of old age before they show up, I would think they had lied to me.

I think I will write a letter to the GB and suggest this.

    Ken P.

This is in reference to all the times the publications have said that,"soon, we would see the new earth, soon, Armageddon will wipe out all wickedness, soon all man's troubles would be over.

<P>Yes, i agree with you - your post made me laugh out loud as this is
what my wife and me were discussing.</P> <P>I have long had this 'thing'
about certain words and call them the 'series's'</P> <P>Can anyone add
to these:</P> <P>The 'No More' series - e.g., 'When death will be no
    more'</P> <P>The soon series - already mentioned.</P> <P>The 'Ever'
series e.g. 'Will everyone ever love oneanother?'</P> <P>The 'Can I'
series - 'Can I worship God in my own way'</P> <P>Have you noticed that
these all have the same format.</P> <P>e.g. When death will be no
more:</P> <P>Few para about death and what it is</P> <P>A few paras
about examples and the effects on families etc</P> <P>Maybe a graph or
     to</P> <P>Some quotes or mis-quotes</P> <P>Then ; -quell
surpries!!! the answer to it all - yep, the Kingdom.</P> <P>You can
use that formulae on any subject - and they do -just fill in the blanks.
It is so predicatable</P> <P>that I gave up reading those articles
     long ago.</P>

uriah, you don't need to put html tags in your posts. it just screws up stuff.

that's when they come to the door i tell them to hold on and that i'll be back "soon". i then go back to whatever i was doing. "soon" being a relative term for them they quickly realize that i'm not coming back "soon" at all and they eventually leave.
