I'm bashing all national systems
How sad for you.
I killed alot of people for my country, have you? are you proud of it, is the world a better place for it.
To tell the truth, I have no idea. Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. All my shooting was done in a group or from a helicopter. Am I proud that maybe I did? No. Am I proud that I stood up and tried to help a thankless nation that wanted freedom and wasn't willing fight for it themselves, yes.
Is the world a better place? I feel so. Communism is no longer the threat it was thirty years ago. Nations that have been under oppression for most of the twentieth century now have the freedom to pursue their dreams and desires. Have they made it? No. But they have the freedom to choose now, don't they?
If you are willing to kill for a national system, why not kill for religion too, whats the difference, they are both things you believe in?
You are making some pretty powerful asumptions there. Was it just killing for a national system that saved the world from tyranny of Nazism and Facism? Was it willing to kill for just a national system that finally brought about the fall of the Soviet oppressive government? No, it wasn't for just a national system, but to protect and grant freedom to those who really want it. Freedom is great to have, but it comes with a very expensive price tag.
Its time the dinosaurs died on the planet. they just don't fit in anymore.
Last I heard, this is the same old planet that it has always been. Should everyone just roll over and play dead when thousands are killed out of jealousy of our advancements? Should any oppression be tolerated simply so cowards don't have to fight?
Idealism sounds great, but is not practical. It does not protect anyone and allows the true aggressors to run roughshod over all that submit to it.
Do I like war? Hell no, I don't. It is no fun at all. But, throughout history, if men and women weren't willing to stand up to tyrants and fight for what is right, you might just be still riding in a horse drawn buggy, provided you were allowed to have one, and paying homage and oppressive taxes to a feudal King.
Your OLD system is ingorance.
And your "enlightened" idealism is just what tyrants love. But you see, I live a real world, not some made up fantasy of splendor where everyone tolerates each other.
