An article in the HERALDSUN.COM.AU SUNDAY MAY31 2015 by reporter Kay Dibben

And I quote. " A hospital has taken the extraordinary step of asking a court to allow a boy to be given a blood transfusion during a liver transplant, after his Jehovah Witnesses parents refused.

Brisbane`s Lady Cilento Children`s hospital has asked the Supreme Court to authorise medical staff to give any necessary lifesaving blood during and after the boys liver transplant.

The boy "J" aged 7 has been on a liver transplant for a year and his parents want him to have this operation but giving blood is against their religion.

The child... is small for his age has portal hypertension and a genetic condition that can affect multiple organs .

    End of quote

my 2 cents worth ,Jehovah Witnesses do not accept blood transfusions :J.W.`s do not donate blood .,they believe according to scripture blood should be poured out on the ground , in other words in their view , not to be used for any purpose , not even to be used in blood and bone fertilizer as some J.W`s have used in the past and been subjected to a judicial committee and sanctions imposed them.

So , they do not accept blood , they do not donate blood , then why do they accept blood fractions that are donated by people that they consider to be a part of Satans system of things ,how hypocritical is that ?

They are on record as saying that Christendom is the Anti-Christ ,the Apostasy from early Christianity ,the prominent one of Babylon The Great ,The World Empire Of False Religion

And yet they accept blood fractions from these ones when it suits them

    How hypocritical is that ..

I honestly do not want to be overly cynical here , however is their the propensity that this couple ,whatever their age or involvement with this religion felt like the child`s best option is with the hope of the resurrection ?

And they are prepared to let him die ? Hoping they will see him in the New System Of Things ?

I am afraid that that scenario is not unique , it has happened many times .

One day I hope a brave person will come on this board and say words to the effect "I sacrificed my child to this religion " and all in vain .

Wouldn`t you take that chance ? To save his life ? - of course I would.

Hopefully the court will force the boy to have a transfusion.

His parents, and all JW parents who deny their children life-saving transfusions, are not fit to be parents. This is where Government needs to be extremely robust in dealing with religion. It must insist that WTS drop the blood doctrine altogether for this particular religion to be officially recognised.

The perfect answer is this :

Allow the boy to have four or five infusions of different blood component fractions.... Of course once inside the body those four or five fractions can come back together and become whole blood .

    See, everyone is happy now!

And they are prepared to let him die ? Hoping they will see him in the New System Of Things ?

So who do they believe will be doomed if they let the child have the blood , them or the child ?

If it is them they must be happy that the docs have taken the decision out of their hands .A win win situation . Jan

stuckinarut2 - "Allow the boy to have four or five infusions of different blood component fractions.... Of course once inside the body those four or five fractions can come back together and become whole blood ."

    Hmph.

That's barely two or three steps farther than what's commonly done already, anyway.

I have learned that there is a pretty common understanding in some JW circles that once the court takes control that the JW parents are freed of responsibility and will often just quietly let done what needs to be done in the case of minor children. They'd rather have their kid than the notoriety of refusing blood andlosing their child to gain JW stature/martyrdom. Some more hardcores won't, but some just tell the doctor to have the court order in place so that the proper care will be given.

I am sure that this is a more sophisticated JW loophole that is not known or available to many JW families.

Its crazy and we know it. They'll let the kid have a fraction that's called hemoglobin which is what 96% of what red blood cells are made of. They'll let them take Hemopure which is cows blood and they'll even let members go and have kidney dialyses where the blood is drained out of the person into a machine for cleaning then returned. So much or spilling it on to the ground. These people are delusional and as soon as I realized the contradictions in their doctrines I stopped going.
