I noticed an obituary where the deceased was described as a member of The Lions Club and devoted JW. Never heard of this combination before and actually know very little about Lions.
Is this fully acceptable according borg rules?

Membership in a lodge would certainly be discouraged for active JW's, if for no other reason than that it would expose them to "bad association." I'm not familiar with the Lions, so I can't say whether any of their practices might actually expose one to being disfellowshipped. Groups with religious or occultic rituals, like the Masons, would certainly be forbidden.
