Common sense has prevailed. Kentucky won't be helping Ken Ham lie to children at his new Noah's Ark theme park after all.

Sorry I don't have time to write a summary but click here for the story...

Why is it religious nutters like Ken Ham don't take this kinda money and put it to better use like feeding the starving and healing the sick like their God told them to?

Two factors made it impossible for the state to allow tax exemption. The way is was blatantly going to be used for proselytising and it's discrimination policy...

“The purpose of the Ark Encounter is to point people to the only means of salvation from sin, the Lord Jesus Christ, who also is the only God-appointed way to escape eternal destruction.”

“Per the required Statement of Faith, an applicant must profess, inter alia, that homosexuality is a sin on par with bestiality and incest, that the earth is only 6,000 years old, and that the bible is literally true in order to be considered for the job.”

He was mocking the atheists for bringing this work discrimination issue up. One element of religion that REALLY get's me annoyed, is the expectancy of gettting what you want and living by your own rules because YOU are representing a god on earth. Discrimination is discrimination and I am very pleased to read this.

In the UK there is a charity for JW pensioners, a care home network. They state clearly in their literature that EVERY member of staff is a JW. Someone needs to pursue it. If I had the time i would, not because it will annoy some JW's but because it is fundementally wrong and we are all paying for it !

Anything that seperates two humans further appart is unhelpful to society.

Cofty, I agree wholeheartedly. If that's what they want to do, fine - as long as its on their dime.

Snare&Racket, same thing. Is this homecare network taking public money? If it is, they should not be allowed to discriminate. If they're paying for it they can do what they want.

Snare - I wonder if the Charity Commission would be interested?
