This is going to be another thread where you slow our computers to a halt by embedding 50 YT videos on a page, isn't it? That's what happened the last time I clicked on a "movie night" topic by accident.
Some Internet connections are slower. I'll keep it brief.
Haha just did movie night with the JWs. The kids chose Monsters University. I told the hostess I was surprised at the choice since I disagree with the JW teaching against Higher Education but that if there is any bad association in college, the Fraternities are definitely bad association. The movie featured lots of Fraternities among the monsters.
Yes the price of University is in a bubble
Yes fraternities are bad association
but I still want my boys to grow up to be college graduates with beards.
"The Thing" 1982
Did you see the 2011 remake? Well done I thought
1982 was an awesome year for sci-fi. "Blade Runner" for one; sci-fi film noir. "Star Trek II Wrath of Khan", best one of the first generation. "Tron", "ET", "Poltergeist", "The Road Warrior" etc.
Try the Howard Hawks Production, "The Thing from another World." Marvelously realized, inspiring, even a little scary, but wholly entertaining. (Did I mention funny) I love the Carpenter film as well, but have grown tired of the original being buried by it's contemporary successor.
Also suggested, The Book, "Who Goes There?" From which all source material was adapted.
