I saw the film The Giver tonight. All I could think about through the whole movie was the organization. Any thoughts?

Once you discover how things really are and try to HELP people to see it too you are labeled as an 'apostate', the elders hunt you down to enforce the rules of their imagined utopia.

The old guy trying to enlighten people about how the world really is is the ultimate apostate

Read the book. A micromanaged world, where no one knows (or asks), why things the way they are. All memories of the prior life were wiped clean, except for the Giver. In a way, it's what I imagine the JWs would like to have as their Paradise.
