Just putting that question out there…not saying they are or are not.
Of course, if they did, the hypocrisy would be teaching their adherents to be ‘neutral’ and to stay out of politics, as well as vilifying other religious organizations for getting involved in the political process.
My first reaction is that I wouldn’t think the Watchtower would get involved in politics, however, I would never have dreamed they were an NGO of the UN for 10 ten years. Or involved in the OSCE. Or sending representatives to hedge fund seminars. And so forth. I do wonder how deep the rabbit hole goes.
The danger in this speculation is one could look into the shadows and speculate all sorts of things and end up a conspiracy nut. I want to see proof.
In this Information age, the Watchtower might be more discreet than they were in the days when they joined the UN in 1992. If they lobby lawmakers, the lobbying organization might not be so brazen to say ‘Watchtower’. Perhaps they would contribute to a third party who would represent their needs for them.
