One picture is a young man with his head bashed in from a Witness cane! .

During a riot at a Anti Catholic rally Dennis Riley gets his head bashed in from a Witness cane.

Did you find any more information about Dennis Riley or the Anti Catholic Rally?

JWs sure started plenty of problems with their trucks and loud speakers! Bashing Catholicism in their own areas. I remember reading some articles where they went into certain area were a group of Irish Catholic lived.

Misused Freedom of Religion and the right to free speech at the expense of others rights just does not seem very Christ like. More like Rutherford using religion for a failed Poltical agenda. Maybe he won a few cases!

    Crazy drunk Rutherford!

Thanks for posting and loved the cool cars turned up side down!

You had to admire the fire in those Witnesses bellies. They lived, breathed and died for their religion. Fast forward to the current wishy-washy breed of Witnesses who wouldn't know what it means to be a student of the Bible. The 'old time' Witnesses knew their stuff, could hold their own in public debates, had a confidence of outlook that was rock solid and views on other religions that were defiant and withering. Sadly, each and every one of those ardent supporters from that era is dead, dead, dead, replaced by lolly-minded followers who know best how to high-tail their way out of thoughtful discussions and who equate arguments with apostasy. The world never did end, but the movement of zealous advocates of the Watchtower surely has.

On several other posts there is the discussion regarding the eventual demise of the WTS. And it's pretty agreed that it will live on for a long time in the future. Or so it seems. BUT THE TRUTH IS, IT IS ALREADY DEAD. There is no more fire in this new generation of JWs. They are just going through the motions. They do not believe the End Times doctrine of the religion. They're planning on living normal lives (except Xmas and birthdays, and many even quietly do Bday things for their kids and when they reach milestone ages).

There is no planning (or lack of planning) as though The End(TM) is right around the next corner. They realize it is NOT coming. At least probably not in their lifetime. It is that "probably" that keeps one-foot-in-the-door. Just in case. And it's not a bad lifestyle........as long as you do not face the blood issue or other critical issues of the religion. Not smoking and drinking in moderation (we know what that means) is a good lifestyle. Living a moral life is good for one's physical and mental health and is what society in general encourages.

The "ban" on education is dangerous for young people, but many, many of them are simply ignoring it and are going to school. At least here they are. The ones that fall for the Party Line, well . . . . that's just too bad. They may suffer financially in life because of it. But, let's face it, some of them (JWs) wouldn't be successful at anything anyway. They'll be the employees at WalMart or KMart or doing odd jobs. Not everyone can be a nurse or IT guy.

The hardnose, zealot JW is dead and gone. The WTS efforts to revive the dead horse will prove futile. And that's OK with them. They just want their money.

    Good observations, DOC.

I gotta say, having JWs go soft the way you described and ignoring/defying (on the down-low) the GB's nuttier edicts makes it sound like the R&F are staging a passive rebellion without even realizing it...

The GB must be getting crankier by the day, LOL!
