'You have broken the law and must pay a fine (to us).' Scam purports to be FBI.

Any experience? What does it mean that a website (otherwise legit) has been compromised?
Thanks.

Its a scam dont do anything it wants, it will lock up your computer. I was able to turn off my computer and load up a anti virus software of my choice and it fixed it but its a hard one to get around while trying to get software to work. You may have to turn off computer more then once.
Can you do a system restore from safe mode?

Thanks, Crazy, cofty and WMF:
Am attempting safe mode. Yes -- it's a moneypak deal. Good thing it was the spare computer. Went to a "normal" site and WHAM!!!
Appreciate your help! It was scary at first. Just another driveby, as they call it.
