    Hey Designs,

In another thread you said, "A brother who was a 'Energy Healer' would munch on seeds constantly through out the day, aka the Birdman"

The guy was an energy healer? I find this amazing in the jw's! How could this be allowed? didn't they consider it demonic or something?

Apparently it was not considered demonic, he was sought out by JWs from all over. I don't know what his official training was in, maybe as a chiroprator. I never went but many in my KH did. He would have the patient lay on an examining table with just a sheet over them and pass his hands over the person's body, supposedly to pick up heat or energy from the afflicted areas. He never directly touched the person just passed his hands over and over the areas. He would also prescribe things like diet change and drinking fish and olive oils to help pass things like kidney stones.

This was during a time that many JWs were also going to Tijuana Mexico for the Laetrile treatments for cancer, the dubious apricot cure.

A lot of people swore by his methods.

    Dr. Springer.

He died many years ago. I think he partook. Troubled family, we almost took in one of his kids.

How unusual. JW's falling for quackery.

Thank God for the Placebo effect.

The Wt. writers for whatever reasons started bashing main stream medicine early on and it builds up this culture seeking alternatives (usually without much science behind it).

    Remember the Iridology craze.

My daughter is watching a co-worker trying to pass gallstones on her own. The poor woman is terrible pain. Sometimes all-natural is not all it is cut up to be.
