I'm a ex-jw who is currently living in the Washington DC area. My husband and I are relocating to the Dallas, Texas area in July.

I'm looking forward to meeting up with any ExJW who live in this area. But, I also have questions about which areas are best for a family with children (schools). I'm looking in the Plano area, any suggestions? Any leads about jobs? (Hubby has one, job would be for me)

Anyway, any information that you can spare, will be greatly appreciated.

I believe there is an Apostafest scheduled for August, they will contact you if you wish. I don`t live there but was there three years ago and I can say that Plano and Richardson are cool as I roller-bladded through them for a scenic personal tour. It is a very Sururban family area where all the .com people live and all the Nortel offices are.

    Have fun!

The local District Overbeer will be in contact with you soon!

Not real sure what kind of job you're looking for, but if its tech related the first URL is a good place to start.

As well, if its office work I might be able to hook you up w/some head hunter temp agencies I've worked w/in the past.

This is also an interesting site you might want to check out...can do a comparison of DC and lots of Texas cities. A few you might check out are Plano, Richardson, Carrollton, Addisson & Farmer's Branch. Hope this helps.

I guess it might have helped if I posted the site...duh..

    Valis,

I found that site today and it was interesting. I have a friend that live in Allen and my husband's exwife live in Duncanville. I like Allen, but Duncanville was ok (some parts).

If you could, please forward me the headhunter or I can send you my resume. Let me know how you want to go about it.

My email addy is open, so if you want to reply there. Thanks

    Hi Everyone,

It just gets better and better when we consider how tunnel visioned dubs are programmed to be. The following is a response I got back from a JW friend after emailing them a link to one of the recent press articles:

"Why don't you get a hold of the accused ones, and get there side of the
story and get back with me. Sensationalized journalism isn't exactly my
    idea of fact.

Get Back With Me When You Heard From Them!

I am not saying the story isn't true. In this country, you are innocent
until proven guilty. Where they ever convicted in a court of law? Is there
    DNA evidence?

I could say you raped me? But did you? Let be reasonable here. I know of
a personal incident where a girl was molested by a JW relative 25 years ago.
At least 5 years ago a Watchtower article clarified that a child molestor
(proven at the mouth of more than person) could never serve in the
congregation. This man at the time of the article was serving as an elder
and was immediately removed as per the society. At the time of the
molestation he was handled judicially and legally. He was not serving as an
elder at the time of the molestation. He was later appointed years later.
But instantly removed as per the clarification.
