Are they down to two meetings a week and standing mute next to a literature trolley one hour a month?

Trying to get a handle on what they do now, my two sisters and brother and families. A three day convention in the summer is it, circuit assembly twice a year? When I was in people were supposed to do ten hours field service a month at least. Now I've seen them standing next to those literature trolleys in town saying nothing to anyone. Pioneering was 100 hours a month then 90 before I left. Seems like they have eased up a little on the demands on your time, but more rules about shunning and how to live your life. Am I right?

You caould be on to something there Xant. It seems like WT reruiting strategies have changed over the years. They seem to want to recruit by fear those who have family in rather than recruit converts. But the D2D is still a feature, they seem to have more pioneers doing less hours but more hours overall.

They seem to want to keep the ones they have through fear of shunning and alson recruit new ones. Asseblies still drill down pioneering to be the best choice. I gave up my career as a chemical analyst to pioneer, now I can't get my old job back anywhere local.

Regular pioneering is 70 hours per month.
Aux pioneering is 50 hours per month.
You can pioneer three times in a year on 30 hours per month - memorial time, and the two times a CO comes.
Pioneer ministry can be limited to standing beside a trolley.

    Magazines are half sized.
Magazines come out half as often.
Magazines are dumbed down and basically channel you through to JWorg.

Public Talks have been reduced from 45 to 30 mins.
PT outlines have been updated for the reduced timeslot, all deep material has been pulled.

Book Study evening was cancelled and integrated into the TMS.

WT study focusses on being obedient over anything else.

SAD has been scrapped and called a Circuit Assembly
There will be two Circuit Assemblies, both 1 day long.
Circuit Assemblies will not be having baptisms.

District Conventions have been scrapped and replaced with Regional Conventions.
    DO's have been scrapped.
    Zone Overseers have been scrapped.

Various 'training schools' have been scrapped.

    What have I missed?

Only pioneers get to do tthe trolley thing right?

At the station near my work they do 8 hours a day by the trolley, which is easy but must be very dull.

    No more missionaries.

Gilead school is now to train Gestapo agents special representatives sent to areas where there are lazy slacker troublemakers congregations in need of encouragement.

Thanks guys, I didn't know it was only pioneers who did the trolley thing or that CAs are only one day now. My husband and I used to say this religion would have to become less demanding on people's time or it would not survive.
