The "DRY" last supper, the BIG VOID in the WT memorial idea.--this week's 'study' --

In memorial talks - -if you have not dozed off by then--, a void occurs, when the speaker drops from the cup of the new covenant 'forgiveness of 'SINs' to the small number of partakers, like explained in this week's 'study', pararaph 18: "-- Jesus INDICATED that only those who will reign* in his heavenly kingdom are to PARTAKE. * with him absent.

read Luke 22:28-30. "-- COVENANT with you for a KINGDOM-- you will eat and drink--in my KINGDOM--"

In the talk this switch from the NEW covenant to the later KINGDOM covenant is never clear.

Nowhere did Jesus "indicate" or commanded , or commented to the effect , that the symbolism of partaking would be "only for those that WILL reign in his heavenly kingdom. to wit:

The enjoinder in John 6 refers to everlasting life, not immortality.

The RE-AFFIRMING of the Kingdom covenant was not part of the Memorial, but as a reiteration of the previously made Kingdom-rule-covenant recorded in Math. 19:28. and

In both cases it was prompted by untoward behaviour of the disciples, i.e. fighting among themselves for prominence and objections to too strigent demands. further:

Jesus passed the bread and wine to people with a PRONOUNCED, and CONFIRMED Earthly hope. at best it can be said that they were POTENTIAL kingdom rulers. "many are called, few are chosen". wt writers: -- [all] faithful OS servants are potential 'anointed'"--. so:

it is not only a leap of faith to buy into the "DRY" lord's supper, it is also the leap, the void from the cleansing New Covenant Cup to the inclusive Kingdom Klub.

caveat: ingenious story spinning on the 'talking snake tale', does not make it factual or relevant.

thank you man, that is a clear and personally touching explanation of the plight of wt adherents, wt speakers on the memorial issue.

man, whatever island you are on, for 'no man is an island.'

It's rather elitist. At "normal" churches, pretty much everyone gets communion.

The annointed brother, I knew at my ex-KH probably just wanted the Bread and Wine cos he was a pig. He must have also joined the Jdubs cos they were always having "spiritual feasts and banquets." Then he realised it was a theoretic "feast". He was too thick to join the priesthood when he was a Catholic.

    Am I being nasty?
