"You cannot be a known sex offender and hold any position of responsibility within the organization," said J.R. Brown, the spokesman. "We have a very strong and aggressive policy for handling any sexual molestation that might take place."

Jr- please clarify- what is "a known sex offender"?

Known to whom? The elders? The members of the Cong? The"World"?

There's alot of wiggle room in that phrase. You seem to be saying,"WT. has zero tolerance/one strike and your out for life policy" without the GUTS to really say that. Why?

Are you employing Theocratic War Strategy?

"So in time of spiritual warfare it is proper to misdirect the enemy by hiding the truth. It is done unselfishly; it does not harm anyone; on the contrary, it does much good."

Watchtower 1957 May 1 p285, 286 Use Theocratic War Strategy

Perhaps, for example, you mean the Xmolester Ministerial Servant currently serving in New York City is not known by Sister Bamboozled in Nizhnevartovsk,Siberia.

    From the 97 BOE

Who is a known child molester? The January 1, 1997, Watchtower article "Let Us Abhor What Is Wicked" mentions on page 29 that a man "known to have been a child molester" would not qualify for privileges in the congregation. An individual "known" to be a former child molester has reference to the perception of that one in the community and in the Christian congregation. In the eyes of the congregation, a man known to have been a child molester is not "free from accusation" and "irreprehensible," nor does he have "a fine testimony from those on the outside." (I Tim. 3: I -7, 10; 5 :22: Titus I :7) In view of his past, people in the community would not respect him, and the brothers might even stumble over his appointment.

How can someone be a "known" sex offender if the abused are not encouraged to speak out?

Does accusing someone make them a "known" sex offender?

Does the accusation have to be proven? And proven by whom?

Does a single occurrance make them a "known" offender? What about a single accusation?

Don't ya just love it?? "known sex offender". You mean anyone who didn't have 2 witnesses to his perverted act is not a "known" sex offender and if the you teen or child accuses him of raping her and he denies it she is told to keep her mouth shut and not slander his good name or the name of the congregation. And if he is a "known" molester than only the victim and the elders can be privy to it and the victim is told "you must not talk about this to anyone in the congregation so that you don't upset the spirit of the congregation" or "don't tell anyone, and if you have nightmares just sleep with your Bible under your pillow and the elders will act as your therapists" My question is why should we care if Brother Pedophile can't have "Position". Assss ifffff that is the most important issue. He can still keep his secret and look at all the little children in the Kingdom Hall.
