My heart aches because of the wall I have had to build around myself. This ache is easier to handle than the ache I would suffer if I ever went through the situation again. I just can't do it. I will always love my parents, I always have. I will always pray for them, they have been in my prayers for 13 years.

Don't ever give up on anybody. They're suffering, too, I'm sure. If they ever realize that they are behaving in a way that is "without natural affection," they might wake up. Meanwhile, you need to build a happy and fulfilling life. Find what you love to do and enjoy doing it.
