what if any scriptures do the GB use to say the f&ds are picked in 1919?? How did they come up with Jesus picking the F&ds and in 1919??
I have only heard of a scripture in malichi about and inspection or something and when reading it its beccomes obvious that its not talking about what they say, so what other scriptures do they use or is the whole thing just made up with out scriptures to try to prove it?
Off the top of my head it was something to do with 42 months (1260 days) in Revelation.
But that would only get to 1918, so i'm not sure what the mental gymnastics required to reach 1919 are sorry.
broadly, anything in Math. 24-25 is in the WT's 'time of the end'. Therefore, since the parable of the FADS is in those pages, and the WT's 'end' started in 1914,
then, since WT was so brilliant (The world HAS ended, millions NOW living will never die), and it fitted the chosen numerology, 3.5 (x2=7), [Jesus' work on earth, the temple] Rutherford was in Control. the rest is history.
Nowhere in WT literature is this piece of nonsense spelled out in a way one can understand. There are a number of vague references to three and half years, based on strange interpretation of scripture, one of the Minor prophets Micah or Malachi is invoked, about the "Messenger coming to the Temple" or somesuch.
As all calculations for this are predicated on an acceptance of their laughable 1914 dateing, the whole thing is a nonsense anyway.
All in all, this is the Doctrinal Achilles heel for the WT/GB/JW's as there simply is no satisfactory scriptural reason to believe this happened, a 1919 "choosing" and appointment, and certainly no logical reason.
Get your local Elders to prove it to you, and I mean prove it, not fob you off. If they cannot, there is a simple formula you should show them :
No 1914= no 1919= no FDS= the GB are self appointed frauds.
