What about a reverse JW time capsule??

Let me explain. Since all dubs believe that the End is soon, they just won't listen. Today's WT study was a friggin joke. WHY ARE SOME IMPATIENT?!?! Oh, geeze..I don't know, maybe because the friggin leaders have been telling the sheep that the END is nigh for 100 friggin years!?!?!? Maybe because they tell them that if they don't believe it, that they are infected by the Devil, the friggin Prince of Darkness?!?! Or maybe they are impatient because everyone is dying off, the "generation" that was not supposed to die is all but gone?!?!

Anyway, I had an idea. What if we were to do a reverse time capsule. Remember in school when you would do time capsules? It's the 80's and you get a bunch of current media and bury it in the yard for the future, right?? Well, what if I bought some small items or gifts for people right now, and saved the receipts. Then I will hide them away and give them out 5 years from now? What if I buy all the little babies in the KH a lunch-box for their first day of school? Or what about a sample bottle of scotch for the 16 year old in your KH, you know, for their 21st birthday?

It could anything that smacks them in the face with reality. The important thing is that the realize that YOU knew the END(tm) would not be here. You could do something small for every 5 years that passes. Or if you are gutsy, just make a bet with a friend for a nice bottle of scotch or dinner? You could say, " Hey XXXX. I bet you a $100.00 bottle of scotch that this system will still be going 10 years from now? What do you say? If I am wrong, and we are in paradise, then I will take your panda bear for a walk for 10 years..."

    What do you think??

I don't see that having much of an effect. The WTS does a masterful job of dangling "the end" out there like its always 3-5 years away. Then the JW says to themself "I can't quit now, Armageddon has to be here in the next five years! No way its going any longer than that".

But they don't hold themselves accountable. In five years, they repeat the conversation and reason they are five years closer.

They also buy the WT bullshit line that Jah is allowing as many as possible to come into the Ark before destruction. But the flipside of the coin is that the world's population increases by 200,000 a day!

The bet thing is interesting though, I like that. Of course by simply saying something like that you are going to get sideways looks for not having faith in Jah. Sigh.

No, Rutherford and WT published that Time of End stated 215 years ago. Yeah, in 1799. This is from The Harp of God [1921]:

"The time of the end" embraces
    a period from 1799 A. D., as above indicated,
to the time of tho complete overthrow of Satan's empire
and the establishment of the kingdom of the
Messiah. The time of the Lord's second presence
dates from 1874, as above stated. The latter period
is within the first named, of course, and in the latter
part of thc period known as "the time of the end".

So the end times started in year, when G. Washington, Jefferson and Adams were alive; before Napoleon became an Emperor, Queen Victoria was not yet born. The Harp of God got this date calculated from this:

    Twelve hundred sixty years from
    539 A. D. brings us to 1799, another proof that 1799
definitely marks the beginning of "the time of the
and". This also shows that it is from the date 539
A.. D. that the other prophetic days of Daniel must be
    counted.

If we were able to look into the future, we will see that the 1914 will be abandoned as was this 1799 nonsense. WT can go in theory indifinitely with any date they randomly pick and choose to fit twisted understanding of the Scriptures.

Patience is going to run out--why live as if you are going to be judged a few years from now all the time? This line has ruined many a life, condemning many to languish. Poverty and stagnation result when one cannot prepare for one's retirement because they expect the end to come shortly. Many get into debt trying to make ends meet, reasoning they will not have to pay it back. Some even go into debt to finance their ministry, thinking they are near the end of it. Go to Nigeria, donate more to the washtowel, pious-sneer, buy supplies to print your own littera-trash, gas money, Grand Boasting Session money (and sometimes even wasting the funds to go to foreign countries). Then the bills come due, and they cannot delay it any more. Banks are not kind to people after they ensnare them with this type of debt. Homes get foreclosed on, cars get repossessed, debt collectors hound, and many even end up in debtors' prison. In the meantime, the washtowel insists on going even more into debt because the end is only a few years ahead.

Also, health issues get neglected. And many of these issues are not just "Go to the doctor and take a drug for life" issues. I have seen witlesses that had trouble walking being required to climb stairs. The lifestyle can and does get people fat and sick. You rarely get enough sleep, which creates additional issues. And you hear about the pious-sneer that was crippled and in pain, with life-threatening conditions, that never missed a boasting session. Poverty, suffering, and sickness all being glorified. The longer that goes on, the more likely your soul is to be programmed to attract the same. Snoozing through boasting sessions rarely works because you are in a trance, so it goes to your subconscious. Skipping them is better, and if you must attend, either drown them out or prepare to tear apart the doctrine as the smut it really is.

I challenged a real UberJW Elder, that if he was so sure that the End was coming, to sell me his whole Estate, as valued on that day, for the sum of £1.00, but I could not collect for twenty years.

That was about 5 years ago, he did not accept the challenge sadly, otherwise in about 15 years time I would be quite well off !

They know deep down that it ain't gonna happen, it is just part of the Cognitive Dissonance that screams inside their head every day.
