I believe official US figures on unemployment and inflation are 'managed'.
Compare inflation in the US to JW publisher growth. How do they keep pace with expenses? Especially if new pubs are broke?

Rich JWs who died, who followed the "don't have kids" advice, and have no one else to will their money to.
From real estate alone, once they move to Warwick & sell off Brooklyn Heights, they ought to have enough for a decade or more just from that.
It's all very profitable. Just look at any congregation accounts - most income outpaces expenses by quite a margin. Now factor in that all the properties paid for by the local congregations are signed over to them. Then there are assemblies where they always announce shortfalls on the last day but really are just guilt-tripping people into giving whatever money they have left in their pockets.
They don't have any expenditure - they don't care for people, they don't pay benefits, their staff are volunteers.
Don't ever imaging they are not making a profit - any branch or cong that costs them money will be shut down.
Does sale of Brooklyn properties and Branches go to expenses or capital? And there are many congregations that barely cover mag and lit expenses.
The forced sale of properties may be the result of this imbalance between inflation and actual growth.
Cramming more Witnesses into fewer halls makes fading easier (" I thought she was going to Congregation B".)

When you have slave labor and people are guilted into giving more to joke-hova, you are never going to run out of funds. People think they are going to die if they don't give everything they have to the washtowel, so they put more money in those boxes. Congregations bleed their funds to headquarters if at any time the amount in the local accounts exceeds a certain amount, usually around 3,000 toilet papers. And we have that rag they studied October 6, 2013, whining that the witlesses need to cut way back on secular work and donate whatever they have to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund.
They put on the show of being hard up to extort people. Debt is an illusion used to guilt people into poverty. "How can I afford that new car, that new TV--or that new flashlight system, battery system, or LED light bulbs--when the congregation or the organization is in debt" is used to make the witlesses feel that poverty is a virtue. At which point, they program their souls into being poor--and not just this lifetime. They are reincarnated poor because of it, and have trouble getting out of it. That is the real aim of these bogus programs of debt. And it is why they whine that they are in danger of going out of business.
And yes, when hyperinflation renders the dollar worthless, they will start pleading that the jokehovians donate all their valuables and slave labor as barter for the company. They work, the company gets the benefit, the worker gets nothing. You have silver, you donate it. You have gold, you donate it. You have batteries for that blackout, you donate them so the company gets the benefit from barter and you get nothing. Resources are taken away and spread so thin that no one benefits, and you get nothing. Communism at its finest.
Even slave labor carries a cost. They deliberately shed a huge amount of liability by dumping Bethelites in the street. The efficiency of the "preaching work" relative to their economy must be laughable - hours spent sitting in cars and on coffee breaks while handing out vacuous magazines that end up in landfills.

They are dumping Bethelites in the street, but added 1,107 additional (no doubt younger and healthier) ordained ministers (5% increase). The HQ increased 8.7% in funds for spec. pios, missionaries & T.O.s.
5% relative to what and exactly how, given that there are massive closures of branches?
If they dumped old Bethelites in the street and then later got newer, younger ones, it only makes the WTS that much more cynical.
The fundamental problem facing the Governing Body now is that they have gathered 8 million people who are largely passive-aggressive dependent lumps.
