How is that defined at Wiki? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizational_structure_of_Jehovah's_Witnesses

The Governing Body and its committees supervise operations of thirty zones

I know there are 96 'branches' with 209 countries and territories, plus 30 "Other Lands" now as noted in the 2013 Yearbook. But, what and 'where' are these 30 zones. Closed down branches recently have just been shifted to some other branch. Is it possible eventuality that there is a downsizing happening to the "30 zones" (though each handling several countries, like U.S. handles U.S., Turk & Caicos, & Bahamas.)

Just seeming to be an organizational shifting (branches to zones?).

For many years there have been "Zone Overseers", but I have no idea what the Zones are.

Logically I suppose, each Zone would include about eight countries/territories.

But then the WT are not great on logic are they ?

What is sure is that the Zone Overseer has the clout to zonk the Branch Committee if he feels the need, all part of the High Control of the Org.
