Do you think Prince's career will be at full swing in the new system, because in the current system he is almost a has-been.

as far as the pop charts go, yeah, maybe, but he sold out the seattle show in about 30 seconds.

In the Friday issue of The Seattle PI, there was a full page article (front page of the What's Happening section) about Prince and his upcoming show in Seattle, and it said he was married last year in Hawaii, in a Jehovah's witness ceremony, and that he has converted to being a JW, "rumors of having been baptized". It also made a big thing out of his changing his lyrics and making them clean now, and that he had taken some 'offensive' songs out of his show.

In today's paper, the review on his show from Monday night, said this "Toward the end, the show took on a spiritual tone as Prince - reportedly now a Jehovah's Witness - exhorted concert goers to look to God".

If you believe the Dubs, Prince will be the only rock-star type left in the New System.

Hey, look at it this way, which would you rather listen to, Prince or "We're Jehovah's Witnesses?" <NUDGES FARKEL> I know what my choice would be! Oh yeah, he's gonna be a BEST SELLER all right! People will snap up his CDs (or cassettes, I think that Brooklyn has banned high technology too, so CDs won't be allowed in the New System, as they are a corrupting influence. At least, this is what the Elder's wife told me, so it must be true) by the bucketload! *LOL*

On a related note, I'm sure I've asked this before: Prince, do you post here? What's your nick? Symbol? TAFKAP?

As they said on Howard Stern when Prince's conversion was first announced: "It will be interesting to see how he will be able to sing songs about GROUP SEX without using any dirty words.

Rumour has it he recently purchased a mansion in Toronto (my town) and I was thinking about renting a billboard close to his home with the simple message http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com. Too bad I'm not independently wealthy!

Did the concertgoers know what they were getting themselves into when they bought the tickets? Were they expecting his old vulgar songs that made him so popular or spiritual songs?

musical career suicide. I certainly don't attend concerts to be preached to.

according to a few hardcore Prince fans that I know, the new album is a bit preachy but the music is incredible. I don't think Prince is going anywhere for a long time....he may not have radio hits anymore, but I don't think he cares. His albums sell and his concerts sell out.
