The thread about urban legends got me thinking and I remembered this one which I was told quite recently which definitely deserves its own place.
A few weeks back I was told by an elder that the 'brothers' are saying that the Catholic Church is to be disbanded with immediate effect by the UN because of child abuse coverups which apparently disqualifies it as a 'charitable organization'.
(no siggering!)
He also claimed that it was headline news.
This is of course mad wishful thinking on their part and I was staggered to think that anyone could believe such nonsense but would be very interested to hear if anyone else has heard this.
Forgive me if this has already done the rounds but it was news to me.
