    Hello cool people,

My degree is to end with 4-8 weeks of elective, i.e. practicing medicine anywhere in the world!

I am half tempted to attend the Byron Bay hospital and would appreciate any advice or contact details if you know anyone working there.

I was a bethelite, pioneer. Returned to education when I left the JW's (not DF'd , I left) at age 26 and now aged 33 I am in my final year of medical school.

If I have to organise my own accomodation (likely) etc I would apprecite any advice and tips. I have no financial support in my degree from family etc for obvious reasons so I have to figure it all out on the cheap to make it remotely possible. I have family in NSW (robertson), so i would just do the 4 weeks at Byron Bay (a place I love). Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for listening to me waffle x

Hiya I live not too far from Byron and while I don't know anyone there, I'll see what I can do. A good place to start would be to look up NSW Health to locate government hospitals in the area. Southern Cross University near Byron (campus in Lismore) might be able to assist you with placement.

Also you could stay at a share house if you can't find anyone to stay with. I don't recall there being a hospital in Byron as the hospitals are in Tweed, Murwillumbah and possibly Lismore. Ballina might have one too. But check NSW Health's website.
