The 144 OOO are called the "SEALED" in Rev.7.-- Wt morphed that into "anointed".

In Rev.14:4 the 144 k are referred to as "--firstfruits--".

In his letter to Hebrew Christians Paul mentions at 12:23 the "congregation ("church" NIV) of the firstborn". The 144 000.

--------- So why did he write to them: "you have APPROACHED the congregation--" ??? -- apparently in his understanding

Paul was writing to a group that were NOT PART of that congregation identified above, at least not yet. Also,

the SEALED 144 000 of Rev.7 are those marked for martyrdom, Stephen and all. a sealing that started in 33 CE.

since of all those billion partakers only 144 000 will be sealed,

is the bible really A BOOK FOR THE FEW,-- READ BY THE MANY? apparently not,

not according to Paul & John.

What I get a kick out of is, if the Christian Greek scriptures are primarily for the annointed, why expect the Other Sheep to live up to the same bar as the Annointed? Why do the Other Sheep do more than the annointed? Really when you think about it, the annointed aren't worth a fuck when it comes to this organization's advancement. This organization has advanced more because of the Other Sheep than the Annointed. The Annointed aka We Haven't Done Jack Shit But We're Gonna Be Runnin Shit In The Next 1000 Years So You Better Respect Our Authority.

Why could Paul write you Hebrews have "--APPROACHED--",-- therefore you are no part of the Congregation of the 144 000, if he was supposed to, as WT asserts, not to be writing to anybody not of the "anointed" 144 000!

Paul should have known that Wt the GB, the FDS would make that rule.

The irony is that, in a sense, they WERE written for anointed ones. Its just that the Society wrongly attributes being anointed to just the 144,000.

The idea (actually worded in Rev) that these are all 'executed with the axe' makes the number 144,000 much more plausible, IMO. It is conceivable that since Christ's time on earth the number of Christians who have actually been executed for their faith could fall into the 144,000 region. The fact that the "four winds" are let loose after that number is reached shows that the number could indeed be exact. In other words, heaven determined that this number was needed, and after the number is reached, no further opportunities for executing Christians in such a way are allowed.

From the standpoint of who God would want in a heavenly government, it would make good sense to use those who gave, literally, everything.

From another standpoint, if this is a necessary qualification, it wipes out any link between ruling and partaking at the memorial, since no one could know their end.

It might also explain why only God would know 'the day and hour.' Only he would know who was fully faithful when they were executed. (But that knowledge might be shared with by Jesus, now that he has returned to heaven.

It is interesting how the Society handles this idea of being 'executed with the axe.' They feel that an 'anointed Christian' dies a sacrifical death, regardless of how they die, even if by old age or accident. Yet an 'other sheeper' (using their terminology), who lives by the same standards, their death has no such value.

This is the RCC all over again. Only the elite can read the bible and then they can make stuff up without even makign a refernce.

good connections BOBCAT. yes that WT argument on "sacrificial death" was in the Rev. book. Of course the downside for Brooklyn is that what they were sacrificing is their right to everlasting life on earth due to the new covenant, which gave that covenant the EARTHLY Power that it deserves.

The sealing is by the angels, not by a quirk in your brain, so, as you said, the sealing of the 144 000 secret and is so far removed from OUR perception of leadership qualification as it can get.

mP the RCC has a court in the Vatican, complete with Devil's Advocate that decides who is a Saint aka "anointed".

WT decided all before Rutherford did not make it after all,-- but Franz, Knorr the eight did,-- without benefit of such formalities.

BUT PAUL in Hebr. 12 and Peter writing about " awaiting--NEW EARTH--" allowed for the "Earthly Class" to exist from Pentecost on and to be worthy readers of their letters.

    Prologos:

I wonder if this might also be part of what Jesus had in mind when he said 'the last would be first and the first last.' (Mt 19:27-20:16) Certainly, at least with the Society, there are those assuming they are "first," and others that these "first" ones assume are "last."

Bobcat: reading Jesus on politics inside "Gods people" shows he (reportedly) had higher ideals,

on leader, benefactor double talk: " --This is not to be so among you--", or " --it is not given to ME--" on granting ranking positions.

What I fear is though, that WT is right in ignoring these injunctions, because in reality it is a tooth and claw world, and Jesus' benevolent world ideal is just wishful thinking cloaked as divine.

In other words the Bible was written by the would be rulers to render the ruled docile.

a hand book written for the "anointed " to control the OS, the lower animal class.

Surely, out of all these good discussions great insights will emerge.
