I would have been couragous
if you hadn't pinned me down with fear
Sorry to be so dramatic,
but that is what I've learned here
The urgency of life surges as
life hangs in the balance
and it was up to me to save it
and it was up to us to change it
even though for me it stood still
while everyone else kept spinning
and of course I knew
the blood was on my hands
stained with the words I never spoke
to save a life
paralyzed and unglaciated
engulfed and choked up by the words
that took away my voice and were never heard

It makes me think of parents who lost their children to the blood issue because they couldn't speak up.
