Actually, that goes against Jesus' strict instructions given to the Watchtower in 1943 (see The Watchtower, July 1, 1943)

The Lord breaks down our organization instructions further and makes them more practicable buy further instructing us through his "faithful and wise servant." He says, 'Let us assign the field, the world, to special pioneers, regular pioneers and companies of Jehovah's witnesses in an orderly way, sufficient for everyone to thoroughly witness therein, and let us place upon each one the responsibility of caring for the new World interests in these respective assignments. He says the requirements for special pioneers shall be 175 hours and 50 back-calls per month, which should develop into a reasonable number of studies; and for regular pioneers 150 hours and as many back-calls and studies as can be properly developed during that time. And for company publishers he says, 'Let us make a quota of 60 hours and 12 back-calls and at least one study a week for each publisher.' These directions come to us from the Lord through his established agency directing what is required of us; and, for those who really love the Lord are are guided by his counsel, that is a reasonable service requirement. This expression of the Lord's will should be the end of all controversy. It is for your good that these requirements are made; for thereby you are enable to prove your integrity and magnify the Lord's name.

They preach about the same as everyone else in the congregation 10 to 12 hours. How much time they waste but report as preaching is a totally different matter.

To be fair hoser, they do long days in the ministry. It is a waste of life and time but they do it.

Cant believe that article.....WOW...... Jesus himself dictated the hours and return visits lol. What utter bullshit

Actually for pioneers teh goal is 840 hours per year. That works out to 70 per month, but most pioneers I know routinely get 90 or 100 hours for 6 or 7 months then "coast" through the spring & summer.

And as hoser noted, that is the requirement for hours reported.

Actual time spent talking to other people about the JW message is a small fraction of that, probably less than 10%, after subtracting out time spent knocking at not-at-homes, driving to return visits, shuffling slowly between doors, stopping for coffee / bathroom / errands, etc.

At presentt he quota is 70 hours. But not many of these hours are genuinely arrived at. Most have devised creative way of counting time.

I started out pioneering when the quota was 100 hours for regular pioneers and 75 for auxillary pioneering (previously known as vacation pioneering)

This is what my yearly schedule looked like since the age of 14:

age 14- vacationed pioneered 3 months.

age 15- vacationed pioneered 3 months.

age 16 -vacationed pioneered 3 months.

age 16- vacationed pioneered 3 months

age 17- vacationed pioneered 3 months

age18-32 -regulared pioneered, 100 hours in the early years and then 90.

What a waste- I think I'm going to a corner and cry.
