New Light: That's what you call irony!

  I read a part of the new light in the april 15 study watchtower and got one conclusion: That's what you call irony!

  If we, readers of that magazine, said the same as written, before october 2012, it would lead to disfellowship. If we were invited by a comite, and we would say the same, we would be disfellowshipped for live and for eternal life!!!!

  And now, an 8 part governing body, claiming being faithfull and discrete, are publishing something totaly different, so we will being disfellowshipped if we hold on the pre october 2012 doctrine.

  What an irony! Kafka!!

  Indeed.

  Truth does not matter one whit in this organizarion.

  One's standing is determined purely, 100%, on obedience.

  More irony: Truth is irrelevant in "the truth".

  I guess "The obedience" doesn't have the same ring to it, though.

  Imagine yourself a lifelong JW in the midst of teaching a study all about the "faithful and discreet slave" -- or maybe you're even teaching it at Gilead to make sure JWs are well trained in what they believe and why they believe it.

  You are well versed in WT doctrine; you've been teaching these things for years.

  Then right in the middle of your teaching, this "new light" comes out, completely changing "the truth" about "the slave."

  How would you react?

  Would you be grateful to be a part of an organization that keeps receiving new light from God?

  Or would you feel like Toto had just pulled aside the curtain to reveal an old man manipulating levers, proclaiming himself to be the Wizard of Oz?

  Dismissing servant

  I think most of the rank and file will accept it without thinking. The GB has been their "bosses" for a long time. This will not have anything to do with their daily living circumstances.

  Ding: Even if I was still 'in' at this point, after 49 YEARS of believeing the 'old' light way, my faith would be destroyed, or at lest shaken to the core to have the rug pulled out from under me.

  @newly englightened: right. the 1995 generation change distroyed my believe in WTS and for a part in God also.

  @ding: the longtime watchtower staff members and CO / DO's, how can they look into the mirror?!?

  They disfellowed without emotion many JW's with other "ideas" about this important part of doctrine, and now they are proven wrong!
