In regard to the Conti case......I have a new hypothesis. I think they know they can't win this one. But for the sake of damage control, they must litter the court with appeals and extensions. That way, 2 years from now when individual witnesses begin murmuring about the 1st ever court case that the mighty Watchtower Society lost in regard to child abuse.......the word can be spread from the top down (DOs to COs to elder bodies to witnesses) that the Society fought valliantly to get this preposterous verdict overturned. Unfortunately though.....Satan and his court used their scheming ways to win out.

That will pacify any who want to know more about what happened. If the society just let the case die......they would LOOK guilty even to their own members.

I remember in 2006 when the JWs were doing their end of the world tract campaign and I told a JW on the sidewalk about the silent lambs stuff- she seemed surprised and shocked to hear about it ( mental denial sets in)- I followed her back to her car and repeated the website address to her again- I asked- "what are you going to do if I am right about the abuse?" - she didn't answer me- just before she close the car door I told her- " I'll tell you what you will do- nothing, you will take it up the keester and do nothing"-- she paused, and said, "you're right", then she closed the car door.

I am sure you are right OSTS, and Moshe.

The WT's only tactic available is as you outline, and as they have instilled in the R&F not to question, and not to research it will fizzle and die.

Unless ..... we do a campaign when the final verdict is in and the case settled, maybe posters and e-mails and tracts etc to get it publicised, and to get the JW's looking at it perhaps, in an effort to defend the WT

We must not jump the gun though, until the case is setled we can do little, apart from try to get individual JW's to look at it .

    Moshe,

That is like burying one's head in the sand.

    No more disruptive innovation, please.

This will also give them more time to further brain wash

the drones about not paying any attention to "apostates".

"Watchtower, June 1, 1953, p. 350 par. 24). 24 In these closing days of wickedness Jehovah’s people must demonstrate holiness. They must not foul their minds with the filthy mental food on the propaganda tables of this old world, but must feed on the feast of fat things Jehovah provides. (Isa. 25:6; 28:8.) Minds must be cleansed and made over, mental circuits formed by old-world thinking and acting faded out and new ones put in according to new-world specifications. By privately studying regularly, by attending all meetings regularly, and by engaging in all features of the preaching work regularly mental circuits are deepened and such good activities become habitual, not at all the struggle they are when the mental circuits are weak and faint because used only occasionally. For ourselves and for others, make them strong!—1 Tim. 4:16.

After a few years the "shock" reponse will have pretty much

gone away for any who actually do know about this case!

Yeah, they know they are in deep doo doo & hence increase

    their own brand of survival.

Anal sex with a corporation? That would make an interesting sex porn toon.

I was surprised by her candor- I think she wasn't happy about the tract campaign- Funny how that 2006 tract mentions child abuse and the Catholic church- now their finger is pointing back at them- I have saved that tract in the hopes WT judgement day arrives in court and it can be used against the average JW.= get out of the KH or share in the WT's sin.

    Good for you saying something.

When the Panorama programme on paedophilia amongst JWs was shown I didn't believe a single bad word that was said about the society and although had always enjoyed and trusted Panorama prior to this episode I stopped watching it I was so disgusted with them.

Nothing in that programme made me question the religion I was in and the only difference it made was to keep a close eye on my girls around the brothers.

Once out I revisited that programme and watched it again knowing that what was said was the truth. It helped in my escape and in the same way anything said now to someone still in may appear to have fallen on deaf ears I know once some-thing like that is in your head, it doesn't leave.

She may do nothing now but if something else crops up she may decide to research it then and if you hadn't said anything she wouldn't know where to even start.

    You did a good job.
