The World Wide Church of God did apologise along those lines a few years ago so it is possible.

From the ones I have personally met (some living, some dead), I think they are too "full of themselves" to ever admit such a thing. Yes, it is a matter of PRIDE. I suspect that they truly believe that they are directed by God.
Further, if they were to even have the thought cross their mind(s) to offer a sincere apology for any damage that resulted from something like the ban on transplants or on the use of any kind of blood products, or on the child abuse policy, the legal beagles would rein them back in and tell them that they cannot put God's Organization at risk. That would not be managing the Master's things responsibly.
