Noah died in 1918 B.C.E (950 yrs. old)
Abraham died 1801 B.C.E only 97 years after Noah.
Gen. 25;8 states he died in a good old age, an old man
and full of years. He lived 175 years.
What the hell, Abraham was cheated out of 700 years, why.
Maybe I,m missing somthing here, are my dates wrong?
Correction, 70,s is the new 30,s, reported yesterday.
It's an exercise in vanity to try to make logical sense out of ancient Middle Eastern mythology.
The explanation I heard when I was young and in the JW's was this: Before Noah's flood, the great water canopy protected humankind from those nasty ultraviolet rays, and so people were exposed to less harmful radiation and lived longer.
Yeah, that's scientific!
True jokehovian logic. One person dies at 900-something and was "a good old age". A scant 90 years later, someone dies at 175 "of a good old age". The UV is not responsible, since why didn't Noah die shortly after the flood? Noah supposedly lived another 300 years after, when the UV was higher. And why didn't that affect the lifespans of other animals?
Now, suppose I agreed to put in 90 hours of field circus in a month and only did 17 1/2? And called that a fair deal?
Yeah, and Sarah was still a hot chick at 90. Maybe the gravity wasn't as strong back then.
