Lunch at the Old Folk's Home, which was entertaining. Now, I'm drinking a bit of egg nog. Snow snow snow today, it looks lovely out their. Somehow that doesn't stop the trains. I can hear a train go by every now and then.

yes we do: contemplation: if celebrations have to be based on nature, and they NATURALLY should be, why not celebrate the MOON "summer" solstice today? the Moon is at HER* highest position today. The Moon has HIS** longest day today.
* if you think in french **-- the northern moon gender.
for lurkers: what other natural yearly occurrence is there? your birthday.
why is the moon highest now (in the northern hemisphere)? because it travels in the plane that all the planets do, not aligned with our tilted equator. so, even if the moon is a piece of the earth (as in catastrophy theory) , as far as its motion goes, its part of the asteroids, planets. natures laws at work for us.

We had to forgo getting together with some pagan friends due to prior commitments.
So we're just drinking some "Winter Solstice" tea from Peet's instead.
Maybe next year.
