So the Watchtower says that the afterlife is purely an invention of Satan, because of the 'you won't die' lie told to Eve. (even though the bible is littered with afterlife talk e.g. Luke 16:19-31, Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:46, Revelation 21:8,Revelation 6:9-11, Luke 23:43, John 3:16 )
Wouldn't Satan have more to gain by people NOT beleiving in a (heaven) afterlife?

The whole concept of an 'afterlife' is based on wishful thinking. Belief in some kind of 'afterlife' is inherent in most cultures, and is a core aspect of Abrahamic religions.
But the JW brand is even more bizarre, because it's not simply that people 'can't' go to 'heaven' (because it's impossible and it's not a real place), but that some people 'can' go to heaven (requiring some special mechanism) but most 'just don't'. Those who allegedly get to 'live forever on earth' in 'perfection' (another mythical construct) instead still (according to the JW folklore) need to eat and breathe etc to live, ergo they can still die anyway, ergo it's a ridiculous fantasy.
