Before coming to a knowledge of the truth, my wife and I submitted to in vitro fertilization because of our desire to have a baby. Not all our fertilized eggs (embryos) were used; some were frozen and stored. Must they be retained, or may they be disposed of?

that's an interesting article. it doesn't right out condemn a husband jerkin off to get sperm for the IVF. So I guess cranking one out is OK in some circumstances? Is there a secret letter to the BOE that gives more detail on this?

Does anyone know of anybody that got disfellowshipped for getting a sperm donor other than one's husband durring one of theses procedures?

that's why I'm wondering if there's any BOE letters to clarify this. The Elder Book is fairly specific on what is pornea. Of course with the 'brazen conduct' catch-all, it doesn't matter anymore.

Very odd viewpoint for a group supposedly against abortion -- you're allowed to just get rid of them. I have suggested that JWs are not really against abortion in any meaningful way.

Idiotic article. So by WT you are allowed to fertilize only 2 eggs to avoid a 'murder'.

Let us demand from the WT to give the money needed-because you will have to try half a dozen times. Ah, and pump your body with hormones thus increasing the rist of cancer. So let us demand them to pay our health insurance too.

My close friend was going to be an egg donor until her friend showed her an article that this was considered fornication if the sperm and egg providers were not married. So donating (selling) an egg and receiving one were both dfing offences. I'm 100% sure she did it anyway, and I was kinda judgemental (not that I would have ever turned her in) and feel terrible thinking about how judgemental I used to be as a witness. I was always the guy that people could tell anything and I would never force them to go to elders until one of them turned on me and betrayed my trust to the elders. That was as I began my fade anyway, so I ignored the elders calls and it was his word against my silence. WOW, I'm going way off topic, all apologies.

I agree that beeing a donor should be a d/f offence. Not for fornication though. It is cruel to sell your child and make it grow in a family that is not actually its real family.
