So what is the conservative talking point on shooting down the jobs bill?

  So the bill proposed that we give tax breaks to corporations that keep or create jobs in the US instead of shipping them overseas, and removing certain tax deductions for companies shipping jobs over seas. Seems very pro american, common sense, obvious. Of course republicans blocked it. It is obvious politics, but there is always some talking point to try and put a spin on it. They can't just say "well strategically we want to make sure that nothing gets done so we can blame it on the president and then claim we can do better." So what is their explanation for why it is so important that this bill does not go forward that doesn't make them look like cynical politicians or money grubbers? Or are they even trying anymore?

  Of course I only need to check fox news and the like to find out. Essentially "it wouldn't fix the economy, and making it more expensive to ship jobs over seas makes it more expensive to ship jobs over seas and that is bad. Also they wouldn't let republicans amend the bill to include things like repealing the healthcare plan, and that isn't fair."

  I just had to post on this one. After a while it gets just plain sickening. The Republicans have lost their minds, plain and simple. It seems that they would destroy the country just to rule over the rubble that would remain. Then they would say that it was all Obama's fault and a good portion of the brain washed public would believe it like the mindless drones that they are. I see little future for this country unless something drastic occures that wakes people up. Sad but true.

  There'll probably be some "what we need is a free market" along with some "Obama doesn't understand the economy" and a dash of "if you'd read a little closer, you'd see that this job-creation bill is actually a job-killing bill."

  It's a combo that's worked well for them before. Their constituency's so convinced that the Democrats are demons that they won't bother to look up anything beyond what Fox says.

  that's because no one investigates for themselves. frankly how could you?

  bills get massive, there's all sorts of economics and pblic policy to follow and figure out before detemining whether yo like a bill or not.

  mch easier to flip on the news and have a pundit tell you how you should feel
