Yeah I know, sounds like something a super villain from a comic book would do.

It would probably be more practical to graft a head unto a bionic body. I don't think they'll be able to solve the tissue rejection issue. Then again the head would have no immune system. Problematic to say the least.

Village idiot- in the doco I watched they said it may have application in the case of someone who has some terminal disease of the body but their brain still be ok, specifically if that person is working on some important research and they need his knowledge. They could have his head transplanted and continue on with the work.

But, they said it would be cost prohibitive and only the super rich could afford.

Possibly better option than cryogenics.

But most scientists, like the rest of us, need to have use of our arms and fingers to do any research. There may be exceptions like Stephen Hawking but without the ability to direct input to computers, papers, etc. they are not going to be very useful.
