the JWs help a few local businesses with $$$ a few days during convention. They don't do anything else otherwise for anyone the rest of the year.

Unfortunately people who are not JWS and know little about the religion, know nothing about the organization's contentious lying
and corruption or that this organization has killed thousands and broken apart millions of families.
All they do see is people dressed nice coming to their restaurants with money in their hands.
Or a visa card that was just used at the assembly site to donate money to the WTS. organization.

I bet the society hates hearing about all the money the rank&file are spending elsewhere.
Next assembly they will come down HARD about only doing society approved activites/restaurants/hotels and how they should be putting that money to better use by giving it to jehovah.

Not divulging my source but at a certain convention recently they got charged a fair wack for car parking and the fuss that was made!! They could not believe they had to pay when they bring so much business into the community, no one had to pay to attend etc etc. Talk about p*ssed off!! Had to laugh. Bet the plugs for the credit card donations went sky high!!
