Jehovah's Witness doesn't vote, so she can't get liquor license

Veronica Brown, who is applying for a liquor license, said she was stunned to learn about the requirement. But she said that voting is adverse to her beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness and that registering to vote and then not voting would be hypocritical.

What a load of rubbish. There has been no such requirement since 1999

What an embarrassingly unfounded stretch this self-righteous would-be liquor-seller makes in confusing the act of registration with the act of voting. Did the reporters ascertain she wasn't under the influence of alcohol at the time she spoke to them? She makes as much sense as someone under the influence. Hell, I know New Zealand JWs who have registered to vote even though it is not mandatory to do so in this country.

The court should challenge her to provide evidence that registration is not approved of by her church.

What an idiot, she won't vote but she's ok with selling a legalized drug (liquor) to the masses?

    REALLY?!?!?!

Does she not realize how stupid this makes her, and the dubs, look?

She wants to be able to give all the alcoholic JWs a discount.

I've tried posting a comment using using FF and Chrome, but failed. If anyone can do it for me, that would be great.

    Something along these lines ....

Veronica Brown is wrong. She is making up her own rules and asking the state to abide by them.

To understand her church's official current policy, the court should request a copy of the Questions From Readers on page 28 of the 1 November 1999 Watchtower, then, they should challenge her to provide documentation, printed after 1 November 1999, that the registration in question is disapproved of by her church.

Well, Happy Day for Veronica, she got her liquor license!

Of course that raises OTHER question... and there is NO dilemma about selling a "legal drug" because it is LEGAL.
