yes we all know there have been many false prophecies published by wts. im asking do they make this outrageous claims as part of attempt to attract new members? im aserting its a big gamble that often works, but has backfired. all said will they continue with anther crazy prerdiction to counter the recent stagnation ? do they like this strategy ?

I don't think they will EVER make any prophecies beyond "it is imminent" anymore. All the others (1914, 1925, 1975 have bit them in the arse).

I don't think they'll be so stupid as to name another doomsday "date" either.
Years ago information moved slower and a good clean-up campaign could usually outpace the scandal at hand.
Now with mass media and the Internet they couldn’t possibly do damage control fast enough to save themselves; it would be like trying to put a raging wild fire with a thimble of water.
So saying soon and imminent is safer because then they’re neither right nor wrong.
