Has there been a case where other benefactors print and give away books and mags for free ? Please note im assuming the copies are identical and nothing has been altered.
Would the WTS sue if someone copied, printed and distro'd for free their literature ?

Identical to what? The originals that they published or the reprints that they don't really let people know are reprints but have to buy again to study . . . again?
They have taken people to court just for posting too much of their quotes because it embarrassed them (their words not mine) Search "Quotes" who was a poster here.
They also harrassed the owner of the old Watchtower Observer site until he finally called it quits and shut down his site.
And they have also forced the reexamine website off the internet. They distributed many pdf copies of WT publications
Much of the WTS's publications are being published and distributed for free by various Bible Student churches. But the WTS does nothing because these books are no longer copyrighted by them. The Bbible Students only print books written by Russell and nothing by Rutherford or later.
