User access to Jehovah's Witnesses website restricted in Transbaikalia

Chita, February 3, Interfax - The Chita District Court has partially granted a request made by the Transbaikalia Territory prosecutor to restrict user access to the Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia official website, the press service for the territory's prosecutors reported on Friday.

"The court has ordered OAO Rostelecom, OOO Svyazkomplekt, OAO Loktelecom, OOOPrestizh-Internet and ZAO Transtelecom-Chita to restrict user access to the site on the territory of the Transbaikalia Territory by filtering the name of the site on DNS servers," the report says.

According to the prosecutors, the website contains links to books that were earlier recognized as extremist material and banned in Russia.

The court decision can be contested for one month.

The Russian Orthodox Church is very jealous of any other religion that might take away its members.

Damned if you do damned if you don't.

Trying to suppress the activity of or access to Witnesses imo makes most current JW's stronger and creates a curiosity in others.

Now, how about raiding some of those meetings for field circus? That's where the real damage is done. While they are at it, they should raid the Kingdumb Hells for evidence that the witlesses are hounding minors to get baptized or pious-sneer, child abuse cases, or tampering with same evidence. Sure, they can ban a web site--but all that's going to do is encourage the witlesses to read the paper rags and stay off the Internet altogether. And you can't stumble onto an apostate web site because of a typo or bad mouse click due to a lag if you are reading a paper rag.
