Never ever sat right with me.
Now, don't get me wrong, it's one hell of a tale to tell your kids as a night time story (minus the pictures of dying babies and animals). But as for actually believing that it happened?
Think about it.

Think about it.
Facts are rendered helpless when confronted with the power of belief.
"The Bible says it. I believe it. That settles it."

honestly, compared to the genoside later on in the OT, it would be easier for me to reconsile the flood story with "its God's magic" then to reconsile the slaughter of babies instead of raising them among "God's chosen people". after i was finally through Genesis and all of the adam and eve/flood/creative days stuff, i realized that those things are nothing compared to the slaughter at the hands of "the God of love". i kind of was suprised that it wasent talked about as much as Genesis. dont get me wrong, it is talked about, but I see way more websites on Genesis then I do on the genocides. I kind of wish I skipped Genesis and went right to the genoside cause it would have made my conculsion alot easier and faster.
I was always amused that the witnesses had given up on the literal 24-hour creative days, but were still hanging on to this absurd fantasy.
Of course, they replaced the 24-hour creative days with the equally ridiculous 7,000 year creative days - so, not really much enlightenment there.
I guess now they are not sure how long the days really were.
Maybe someday they will realize the physical lack of possibility for the literal flood.
