There is nothing like being pre-emptively shunned by my wife's family. I started growing out my hair and beard years ago so of course everyone on her side of the family has been a little bit standoffish when I show up. When her aunts and uncles go see her dad I tend to escort her to her dad's house, politley say hello then come back home. Because the sight of this bunch makes my skin crawl. All uber jws and just creepy to me.
Well, one of her uncles lives next door to her dad. He is an abusive, wife beating alcoholic. He thinks that because his kids are all pioneers and the son an ms that he deserves to be an elder, even though he hardly went to meetings or service when the kids were growing up. Well, they all turned out to be "Good JWs" despite him. LOL So the past few years he has been on a mission. MAKE ELDER...Hypocrite. So he took it upon himself to start mini shunning us.
Today I saw him at the check out line grocery store and he decided to try to pressure me about going to the memorial. I told him that since they claim Jesus came in 1914 that there was no need to stage a memorial anymore. He didn't know what to say! LOL So I asked why all of a sudden he decided to speak to me. I told him he better not count the time and he just looked at me and got mad! My son came up to the line with a couple of things and I said that we were being treated to a visit by count DRUNKula...He stormed off....
I can't WAIT for the scolding we will get for that one.
