I am well aware that several before me have taken the time to post ridiculous quotes from this book that Jesus supposedly approved. I have a list of quite a few of them. But I am in the process of painstakingly reading that whole damn book and I feel it is necessary to post more gems if I happen to come across them.....and don't remember them being posted before. So......here goes:
Who will die at armageddon:
“…..The restitution, of all that was lost in Adam, to all the willing and obedient, ad the hands of their redeemer and His glorified church – when all the willfully wicked shall be destroyed. (The Finished Mystery – 1917 – page 57) - According to this piece of literature.....only those that are willfully wicked will die
" Only Jehovah's Witnesses , those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." (Watchtower 1989 Sep 1 p.19) - According to this piece of literature....only JWs have any hope of survival
"With complete confidence in Jehovah’s righteousness, we need not worry about finding answers to questions like: ‘How will babies and small children be judged? Might it be that a large number of people will not yet have been reached with the good news when Armageddon arrives? What about the mentally ill? What about . . . ?’ Granted, at present we may not know how Jehovah will resolve these issues. He will do so, however, in a righteous and merciful way." (Sept 15, 2010 WT page 29) - According to this piece of literature.....some perhaps not having a chance to hear the "good news" or those that are mentally ill may be spared.
All of this makes me think back to the December 1, 1981 Watchtower - page 27. What did it say? Ah yes.....
"At times explanations given by Jehovah's visible organization have shown adjustments, seemingly to previous points of view. But this has not actually been the case. This might be compared to what is known in navigational circles as "tacking." By maneuvering the sails the sailors can cause a ship to go from right to left, back and forth, but all the time making progress toward their destination.
Summing it all up - 1917 - only the wicked will die. 1989 - All who are not Witnesses will die. 2011 - only the wicked will die. I am so happified to have found this fine example of progressive spiritual "tacking".
"Armageddon will destroy only the incorrigibly wicked, and there will be a great crowd of survivors" (Sept 1, 2011 Watchtower page 10) - According to this piece of literature.....again....only the incorrigibly wicked will be destroyed
