Second Best Leadership

The Study article in the March 15 issue of The Watchtower proclaims: "How reassuring to know that Jesus Christ provides leadership to his disciples today through the Governing Body...." (p15, para 9)

Frankly, this is not reassuring at all. But the Dubs have to make do with 'second-best'. Why?

There are many reasons, but one is that their beliefs and teachings obscure the role of Jesus in their lives. From time to time, they may hear of having a relationship with Jehovah, sometimes even with Jesus, but predominantly their relationship is to be with a corporation, a business, an organisation.

    Is it spirituality?

Look at it this way. Do you like to drink Coca-Cola? Does it do for you all the things that the ads tell us? Like it's "The Real Thing"? For a time it might, but eventually you tire of it. Why, you might even want to try a Pepsi for a change!

The 'Real Thing' is that there is no real spirituality in a corporation. Yet that is what the WTS is. Just a corporation. It might proclaim a version of the Gospel but in the long run, it has no spirituality. It can't.

Leadership can be through no other than Jesus. That's what a Christian believes. Yet the WTS has diverted attention onto the organisation in the guise of the Governing Body.

    Incredibly this same paragraph states:

"Even if some of Jehovah's worshipers were to become temporarily isolated from the Governing Body because of persecution or the like, Christ would still provide leadership by means of the holy spirit and angelic support."
Incredible? Yes, for a true Christian, (to use the WTS favourite expression) has a relatiosnhip with Jesus all the time. They don't need to have a group of aging, imperfect men to have a relationship with, or to have them in a collective sense as their mediator.

    Cheers,

Thanks for posting this "gem." I don't see current mags very often anymore.

Second best is what they want first! Incredible!
