There is a middle-agged gentleman that I have been seeing at church for a while. I was a little early and decided to say hello and make a new friend a couple of weeks ago. The blood probably drained from my face when I saw the big oversized version of the NWT laying in the pew. "Oh a NWT", I said. "Yes, my friend gave that to me." I was saved by the beginning of the service. I am not sure how to approach this if I do at all....
Any suggestions?
I dunno - I saw a green one on the cover of a Mason Williams album years ago.
I found one in the st vincent de paul thrift store.....hey you get some good things in there,,,,,,that wasn't one of them

Grab the best translation that they have available at that church, and compare it to the New World Translation version...
I'm sure that they could be persuaded to get rid of the trashy green thing after such a comparison...
And general question here - where the heck is that thread on which is the BEST bible translation available???

Whatever you do, DON'T buy the Holman Christian Standard bible - I bought one, and its language is far too "modern" and "soft" - not a literal or even a CLOSE translation in any way, shape or form...
Went to a HS Play and the Preacher Character had the NWT. I was mesmerized by it the whole time.
