    Hi, Folks,

Some of you may remember my speaking of my friend DTRT. He just flew into Hawaii from Korea where he took part in some of the consultations brought about by Kim Jong Il 's death. He came back to Honolulu to attend an international meeting on solar EMP, a matter that I hope to run by some of you deep thinkers later.

He's 68 or 69 now and "officially" retired, but is constantly being called out for emergencies of one sort or another, many of which requires him to wear his full dress uniform as a Navy Captain. The situations he finds himself in run the gamet from hilarious to horrifying, but this one warms the heart. Enjoy.

    Peeplezs,

I went to the Christmas Gathering at the U.S.S. Arizona
this morning where I met Adm. Maria Sheldon (Ret.) who
was a Navy Nurse in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese
    bombed the Arizona.

She was there in Uniform and still getting around quite well
for being 98 years old. She came for the gathering of WWII
Veterans that was held on the Arizona on the 7th of this
    Month.

She lives in San Diego and leaves for home tomorrow evening.

Since she is here by herself, I invited her to have Dinner and
paint the town with me this evening.

For a few seconds, her jaw dropped while she just stared at me
and then said "Hell Yes, when you get as old as Me you can't be
too picky about which Sailor you spend the night with!"

Her hearing isn't the best and she could be heard a few yards
    away.

The crowd that was there went out of their minds clapping and
cheering us as we left the Ship.

She told me that she hadn't been on a date since her Husband
(Army Col. Robert Sheldon) died in '87 and Painting the Town
with a Sailor was something she hadn't done since 1947 when
    she met her Husband.

We had a blast......... (WE only did 2 Bars after dinner and I took
her back to her Hotel) The 2 Bars we went to were full of Sailors
and Marines and many recognized her and wanted to talk with her.

I understand that she is well known in the San Diego area for her
work with Navy Charities. I will be meeting her after my meeting
is finished and will be taking her to Dinner and seeing her off at
    the Airport.

I still have some work on my presentation so, HAPPY SATURNALIA

    DTRT
